The
Family Development Program is designed to provide support and
assistance to families or care givers of children with behavioural and/or
emotional problems. The objective is to maintain the child's present placement
by strengthening the parents or caregivers skills: to develop problem solving
techniques, to change family dynamics, to improve family communication skills
and to teach conflict resolution. The worker may work with parents, foster
parents, grandparents, and/or other relatives the children are living with,
assisting them to carry out recomended goals.
